Meet the team

Meriel and Anya are the chiropractors at Horizon Chiropractic, by Waitrose on Western Road in Brighton & Hove.

Meet Meriel

Meriel set up Horizon Chiropractic in March 2016 after eight successful years as an associate chiropractor. Starting a clinic with her signature ethos, “do whatever it takes”, has meant people from all over the South East come to see her, mostly through word of mouth.

With a BSc in Physiology, a BSc and MSc in Chiropractic, and many years working at national, European and world championship sporting events, Meriel has the training and experience to find out what’s causing your discomfort and help you get back to being active. More importantly, she’ll give you lifestyle advice and rehabilitation exercises, so you have the knowledge to help yourself.

Meriel is an Internationally Certified Sports Chiropractor (ICSC) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Chiropractors (RCC) for her experience and contribution to chiropractic and elite sport. She also chairs the RCC Sports Faculty, which encourages new chiropractors to get involved in professional sport. In 2024 she won the Chiropractors’ Chiropractor award at the British Chiropractic Association’s Excellence Awards, voted for by BCA members.

In her spare time, you’ll find her in the sea, on the Downs or on a tennis court. She’s a keen sportswoman and loves the outdoors.

Meet Anya

Anya brings an up-to-date, evidence-based approach to care. She trained at AECC University College (now Health Sciences University) and has experience in both clinical and sports settings. She grew up in Bournemouth and has returned to practise on the south coast.

Committed to patient-centred, evidence-based care, Anya works with patients across a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, with a particular interest in movement, injury management and rehabilitation. Her approach is built on a welcoming environment where every patient feels listened to, supported and confident throughout their treatment.

Outside the clinic, Anya has a strong sporting background: she has played and coached county-level cricket, and has a keen interest in golf and netball. Her time in sport has given her a real appreciation of the physical demands placed on the body, and of the importance of good injury management, rehabilitation and performance support.
