About QAS
I’m Steve Anstead, the owner and engineer behind QAS.
I’ve worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, covering everything from kitchen and bathroom installations to general contracting. This broad experience provides a detailed extensive understanding of how homes are constructed, altered and extended; knowledge that directly informs heating system design and integration.
During that time, I relied on many heating engineers and I saw first-hand the difference between work that was simply “installed” and work that was properly thought through with care and consideration.
As heating systems became more complex and renewable technology developed, I wanted to understand it properly. That led me to retrain and specialise as a heating engineer.
QAS was created because I didn’t like the idea of installing a system as fast as possible and walking away. I deliver a consistently first-rate standard of work, focusing on achieving the correct specification to provide long-term reliability and technical accountability.

When you engage QAS, you deal directly with me. No sales teams. No subcontracted installation crews. I aim to build long-term relationships with customers, not one-off transactions.
Alongside formal qualifications and accreditations, I maintain a trusted professional network across the industry for complex problem-solving, renewable integration and smart building systems.
