Shockwave therapy in Brighton & Hove
Horizon Chiropractic provides shockwave therapy in Brighton and Hove. It can be a stand-alone treatment or part of a chiropractic appointment that uses other approaches, depending on the injury. Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate healing. The sound waves are applied directly to the affected area, where they help to reduce pain, break up scar tissue, reduce inflammation and promote the growth of new blood vessels.

What conditions can shockwave therapy help with?
- Plantar fasciitis
- Achilles tendonitis
- Tennis elbow
- Golfer’s elbow
- Shoulder pain (rotator cuff tendonitis, calcific tendonitis)
- Hip pain
- Knee pain
What happens during treatment?
A gel is first applied to the affected area to help conduct the sound waves. The shockwave probe is then placed over the gel and the sound waves are delivered in short bursts. Treatment can be slightly uncomfortable, but most patients tolerate it well. Depending on the condition and how severe it is, most patients need between three and five treatments, about a week apart.
